Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Domestic Sales Manager to lead and grow Avid’s domestic business across our chemical product portfolio — particularly Amino Acids, Carboxylic Acids, and Fine Chemicals such as MEHQ and Vanillin.
This role is a blend of frontline domestic sales leadership and commercial coordination with our global sales offices. The ideal candidate combines market understanding, relationship-building skills, and the ability to support backend operations for exports and global customers.
Key Responsibilities
Domestic Sales & Business Growth
Drive domestic sales for Avid’s key product lines — Glycine, Taurine, MEHQ, Vanillin, and other fine/specialty chemicals.
Identify, develop, and manage relationships with key distributors, formulators, and end-use manufacturers across pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and industrial sectors.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms while ensuring profitability and alignment with company objectives.
Track competitor activities, market pricing, and customer feedback to inform internal strategy.
Market Intelligence & Product Positioning
Conduct regular market mapping to identify new applications, customer segments, and untapped regions for Avid’s portfolio.
Provide feedback to R&D and product development teams to align innovation with market demand.
Develop strategies to increase brand visibility and customer trust within the Indian market.
Coordination & Back-Office Support (Global Sales)
Liaise with Avid’s international sales team to share customer leads, samples, quotations, and dispatch updates.
Support export order processing, documentation coordination, and logistics follow-up when required.
Assist the global business development team by maintaining updated price trackers, CRM data, and customer correspondence.
Performance & Reporting
Prepare monthly sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and business review presentations.
Monitor credit control, dispatch follow-ups, and order realization.
Maintain accurate sales and market intelligence records using internal ERP/CRM tools.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related science. MBA preferred but not mandatory.
Experience: 8–15 years in domestic sales of specialty chemicals, preferably in Amino Acids, Fine Chemicals, or APIs.
Proven experience handling industrial B2B customers (pharma, cosmetic, food, or intermediates).
Strong negotiation and customer relationship skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
Good understanding of pricing dynamics, market trends, and regulatory environment in the Indian chemical sector.
Strong coordination and communication skills for interacting with internal production, logistics, and export teams.
Comfortable using CRM tools, Excel, and digital communication platforms.
Willingness to travel across India as required.
